About the Keynote Speaker
We are pleased to announce Mr. Samhirs Piraino-Guzman as our Keynote Speaker at this year’s conference. A survivor of child abuse and human trafficking, Piraino-Guzman spent several years in foster care and, with the help of his CASA volunteer, Marcos, persevered. Today, he travels the country advocating for youth and teaching caregivers and service providers how to help children who have been traumatized. His keynote address will be a true survivor’s story, providing attendees with an insider’s look at our nation’s child welfare system, the horrors of human trafficking and the impact a caring adult can have on a young person’s life.
