Have you ever felt burned out doing your work as a CASA volunteer? By that we mean, have you ever felt physical, emotional or mental exhaustion combined with doubts about your effectiveness in standing up for foster children.
If so, you’re not alone.
Studies show that those most at risk of burnout include people in helping professions, which clearly includes CASA volunteers. One of the best ways to deal with burnout is discussing concerns with your supervisor and mentors.
Many of our long-term CASA volunteers have faced frustration and doubts but have persevered. They continue working on behalf of the children and youth despite the ups and downs that come along with the job.
Come hear from a panel of CASA volunteers who will share their own experiences with burnout and will offer advice and support to you.
