May is National Foster Care Month. Its is also our 15 year anniversary. For 15 years, CASA has worked to improve the lives of children living in foster care. The theme for National Foster Care Month this year is “Honoring, Uniting and Celebrating Families” and CASA encourages you to think about what YOU can to help strengthen families and advocate for victims of child abuse and neglect.
All year long, Court Appointed Special Advocate helps abused and neglected children heal so they can live happier, safer lives. CASA volunteers – Court-Appointed Special Advocates – make sure kids don’t get lost in the overburdened legal and social service systems or languish in foster care. CASA volunteers stay with children until their court case is closed and the child is placed in a safe, permanent home. CASA volunteers also help prepare older foster youth for adulthood after emancipation. But we cannot do it without your support.
